Russ Cullen, General Manager, Retires
After 30 years of dedicated service, Russ Cullen decided to retire this past Fall. Russ, a native "Southy" from Boston, came to Syracuse in the 1970's. As a boxer in high school, Russ learned about hard work and determination which made him a valuable asset to many different commercial roofing companies he worked for. It was with these companies where Russ honed his skills and became an expert in many styles of flat roof installations as well as steep slope applications. Russ joined Van Derhoof Roofing in 1984 and brought with him that same work ethic, loyalty to the company, and more than enough street smarts to manage 30 workers. Russ has been a mentor for many employees that are still with the company today. The way that Russ was able to calm down a worried customer with his jovial attitude will be missed by all of the people that got to know him through becoming a valued customer. Everyone at Van Derhoof Roofing will miss his "never say no" attitude to work and we wish Russ and his wife a happy retirement. Best of luck with the next journey of your life. You will be missed.
